Welcome!

My hope for this space is to be one where I share some progress shots of paintings I'm currently working on. I'd like for people to see a snapshot of how working through a piece goes; to show the non-finished and non-polished stages of an image. But to also visualize my own moves in a painting and gain some insight for myself. To broaden my own understanding of the piece.

Sometimes, I like to work quickly and "finish" a painting too soon, while often times there is a voice in the back of my head telling me I should push it further. So, my hope in doing this is to slow down and bring awareness to parts of the process that I might not otherwise let myself see. In addition, I hope that in doing this it will hold me accountable in my practice. To keep showing up and picking up the brush.

By documenting images of each stage of a painting and providing some of my thoughts and choices for each move I make, I hope to give some insight into my work and just have fun. I personally love seeing the start, middle, end and everything in-between of another's work when given the chance.

Consider this a virtual studio visit where you and I can look at a piece together and be surprised by the end result.

I don't consider myself a writer, so a part of me is wondering why I'm doing this. I just want to try and see how things go. If you do choose to follow along, thank you! I think this will be fun :)
